The Lions Club of Ingleburn has been serving the local community for 56 years and will continue to do so for many to come.
And from this weekend a new, bigger and better food van will help the service club have an even bigger presence around the traps.
At 9am this Saturday, September 22, the State Member for Macquarie Fields, Anoulack Chanthivong, will be cutting the ribbon out the front of Ingleburn Town Centre (Woolworths) to officially launch the new Lions food van.
After the launch, Lions will be cooking up a storm and will be giving away, courtesy of Woolworths Ingleburn, free sausages on a roll until 2pm.
So if you’re around Ingleburn on the day drop in to say hello to the Lions boys and girls and pick up a delicious snag as well.
The current president of Lions Club Ingleburn, Mr Michael Day, said the brand new, fully compliant food van will be used for fundraising to assist the community.
[social_quote duplicate=”no” align=”default”]“This van will also be available in times of disaster to assist where needed,’’ Mr Day said.[/social_quote]
“While it will be easier to set up at an event, we will be able to cater at larger events, thus providing more funds for community projects,’’ he said.
The Lions food van was made possible through funding from the state government, via way of a grant, the Australian Lions Foundation, and the support of four local sponsors: Fusion Shutters & Blinds, Keneally’s Funerals, Austax Ingleburn and Aesthetic Denture Clinics.
Mr Day said no public monies were used by the club towards the new van.
New members are always welcome at the Lions.
