Campbelltown Performing Arts High School now also boasts a hospitality and construction trades skills centre.

The state of the art centre will enable students to work towards qualifications in the high demand areas of hospitality and construction up to the Certificate II level.

And they will be able to do that during their regular school hours classes.

The $1.7 million facility was delivered through a partnership of the Federal Government and the NSW Department of Education and Communities.

The benefits of the centre will not be limited to students of Campbelltown Performing Arts High School, with the school establishing partnerships with the nearby Lomandra and Beverly Park schools that will also make use of the facility.

Campbelltown MP Greg Warren, who attended last week’s official opening, said that the centre was a great asset for students and staff at Campbelltown Performing Arts High School.

“The Trades Skills Centre at Campbelltown Performing Arts High School is the perfect example of the hands-on, practical learning environments that our kids deserve to be able to learn in,’’ he said.

“With the HSC exams recently beginning, this is an important reminder of the fact that university isn’t the best option for every single student.

“And to have a facility like this within the school grounds for those students interested in construction and hospitality is simply fantastic,” the local MP said.
