The heart of Ingleburn is set to come Alive early next month.
There will literally be dancing in the streets when the annual Ingleburn Alive festival returns to Oxford Road on Saturday, March 5.
Highlights will include performances from the Royal Australian Navy Band, The Anthill Mobb and a host of other high energy entertainers.
Every year the normally orderly business district main street of Ingleburn is converted into one enormous street party and this year will be no exception.
From 11am to 8.30pm, Oxford Road will be buzzing with an eclectic mix of street stalls and live entertainment.
There will be something for residents of all ages to enjoy.
The Navy’s top jazz and big band musicians, known as The Admiral’s Own Big Band, will open proceedings at 11am, performing songs from the swing era through to contemporary big band music.
There will be lots of activities for kids, with the Free Family Fun Fest in the grounds of Ingleburn Public School, featuring camel rides, craft activities, face painting, a petting zoo and inflatable fun.
They’ll also love Nick Jr.’s PAW Patrol stage show, where Ryder and his four-legged friends work as a team to save the day.
Two shows are scheduled for approximately 1pm and 3pm, and fans can catch up with the characters after the show for a meet and greet.
In between the PAW Patrol’s adventures, Stars on Stage – Kidz in the Biz will entertain the crowd, with a lively dance performance featuring funky costumes and lots of audience participation.
The high energy entertainment continues when Movida Dance Fitness takes to the stage, delivering a fusion of Latin and hip-hop dance beats, before the spirit of the South Pacific saturates the streets as traditional Polynesian dance group, Ura-Eiva, sway to the beat of the pahu drum.
Be amazed by the beauty and intensity of a Brazilian ABADA-Capoeira demonstration and mesmerized by Fractafire and his dynamic fire breathing act, featuring amazing special effects and ninja style skills!
A mystery celebrity guest is also scheduled to make an appearance – more information will be made available closer to the date.
The street party continues into the early evening with a vibrant mix of music, including harmonies from local seven-piece band, K-Groove, who’ll treat festival goers to covers of popular songs from the 1970s to today.
They’ll be followed by Wildcatz, who have earned a reputation as being one of the most talented and entertaining cover bands in Sydney, and headline act, The Anthill Mobb, who’ll take to the stage with popular tunes from the 1960s to now.
Of course, the festival wouldn’t be complete without the spectacular fireworks display in Milton Park at 8.30pm. Residents are reminded that fireworks can scare animals, and to keep pets restrained or inside their house.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said council was proud to present Ingleburn Alive, to showcase Ingleburn and bring people together in a celebration of community.
“Ingleburn Alive attracts large crowds of people from across the Macarthur region every year,” Cr Hawker said.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity to highlight what’s great about Ingleburn and celebrate the community spirit that makes Ingleburn a great place to live, work and play.
