Hold on to your hat: there are heaps of school holiday activities to keep kids entertained.

School holidays start tomorrow – Saturday, September 19 – so it’s time to plan ahead and book in some fun with Campbelltown City Council’s Spring School Holiday Program.

Campbelltown City’s four library branches offer a great range of activities to keep kids busy during the break, from dinosaur craft for under 12s to a garage band workshop for under 18s.

How about a circus show, featuring juggling, hoops and magic tricks? Or for older students, a HSC maths tutorial will help get them prepped in time for the exams.

Kids can make a splash at Macquarie Fields Leisure Centre, The Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre in Bradbury, and Eagle Vale Central, with all pools offering an intensive learn to swim program as well as fun afternoons with pool inflatables on designated days.

For those who like their fun on two wheels, the Campbelltown Bicycle Education and Road Safety Centre is open from 10am to 3pm on Sundays, as well as weekdays during school holidays. Entry is free – just bring your own bike or scooter and helmet!

If it’s creative pursuits that you’re looking for, head to Campbelltown Arts Centre for family macramé sculpture sessions, musical theatre workshops with NIDA or the chance test your invention skills by creating your very own robotic drawing hand!

Campbelltown City and Eagle Vale School Holiday Care centres also offer a range of excursions and theme days – a great option for parents needing a hand with care requirements during the school break.

Available from 7am to 6pm daily, every day boasts a new activity, from plaster craft and forensic science, to rock climbing and mini-golf excursions.

Parents are advised to book early to avoid missing out.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Lake, said the school holiday program was part of council’s commitment to providing a range of recreational opportunities for residents of all ages.

“From libraries to leisure centres, there are loads of great things to do around Campbelltown, and school holidays are the perfect opportunity to discover what’s on offer,” Cr Lake said.
