Hameed Kherkhah: inspiring story.

Sydney Thunder community rookie Hameed Kherkhah will help coach the future Twenty20 stars at the Raby Sports Complex tomorrow, Friday, January 16 from 9am.

Kherkhah will take part in the local Campbelltown T20 Blast Holiday Camp being run by Cricket NSW and the Campbelltown-Camden Ghosts.

Participants aged 6-12 will get the opportunity to train with Hameed at his home ground.

Kherkhah, 24, is an off-spinner who plays for Campbelltown Ghosts and was asked to try out by Afghanistan for the World Cup, to be held in Australia and New Zealand next month.

Kherkhah was chosen by the Governor of the Thunder Mark Waugh as the Sydney Thunder’s community rookie for BBL 04.

The senior development officer for Cricket NSW of South West Sydney, Herman Lotey says the participants at the Blast Holiday Camp will be inspired by Hameed’s story.

“This is a great opportunity for the local community to not only train with Hameed, but to listen to his fascinating story, the kids will no doubt be inspired to pursue their own cricketing aspirations,” he said.

T20 Blast is a fantastic new format of cricket aimed at providing maximum fun and participation.

The Campbelltown T20 Blast Holiday Camp is targeted towards 6-12 year old boys and girls.
