The State Member for Campbelltown, Bryan Doyle, is encouraging Campbelltown high schools to apply for the NSW Government’s 2015 Gallipoli School Tour ballot which closes on Wednesday, August 27.
“2015 marks the Centenary of the fateful ANZAC campaign. This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for high school students in years 10, 11 and 12 to travel to Gallipoli and experience the birthplace of the ANZAC legend,” Mr Doyle said.
Schools that are drawn in the ballot will be required to conduct a local selection process, to select up to four students, based on a written or visual piece of work on a theme or topic related to the Centenary of ANZAC.
Expressions of interest can be submitted online through the NSW Centenary of Anzac website at www.veterans.nsw.gov.au/centenary/gallipoli-2015- school-tour/.
“I am encouraging all eligible Campbelltown High Schools to apply to take part in this experience of a life time, as we commemorate the Centenary of Australia’s involvement in the First World War,” Mr Doyle said.
