Former deputy mayor Blyton draws top ballot spot

Former Campbelltown mayor Paul Blyton has drawn first spot on the ballot paper for the September 10 local government elections.

Current councillor Clinton Mead and the Liberal Democrats ticket drew second spot.

The ballot draw took place earlier this evening in the Queen Street civic centre in the presence of most of the candidates.

After Mr Blyton and Cr Mead drew spots A and B, the independent group headed by Nea Makowski drew spot C.

The Greens led by Ben Moroney drew D, while the Liberal Party headed by Cr George Greiss was drawn in spot E.

The Liberal Party ticket includes current councillor Ted Rowell but not Alana Matheson and Mayor Paul Hawker, who have called it quits.

Veteran councillor Paul Lake’s Community First Team ticket drew the next place, F.

Councillor Lake’s number two is Glen Alpine education officer Joshua Cotter.

Spot G went to Cr Fred Borg’s Totally Locally Committed Party, which has well known Sleeping Giant owner Warren Morrison as his number two on the ticket.

The Labor Party, whose ticket is headed by councillor George Brticevic and includes councillors Meg Oates and Darcy Lound, was drawn next in spot H.

The Christian Democratic Party (Fred Nile Group), headed by John Ramsay and Emma Ramsay, drew spot I.

Cr Sue Dobson’s Community Service Environment was drawn next in J, followed by Cr Bob Thompson’s Independent Team in K.

Well known East Campbelltown Eagles administrator Daniel Draper is listed number two on the Bob Thompson ticket.

The final spot will have ungrouped independent candidate Piotr Kotarski.
