Riverfest is a fun day with a serious message on the environment.
All invited: Riverfest is a great fun day with a serious message on the environment. This year is on August 27 in Koshigaya Park.

Mark Saturday, August 27 on your calendar because that’s when Riverfest returns for 2016.

It will once again be held at one of our great local outdoor spaces, Koshigaya Park.

And all residents across the Macarthur region are invited to attend.

If you haven’t attended one before make sure you catch the 2016 version and you’ll be back for more next year.

Campbelltown Council and a host of stallholders, community groups and entertainers join forces for Riverfest to provide free activities, displays and non-stop stage entertainment.

The Riverfest has a simple aim: the celebration of our city’s cultural diversity and natural environment.

The event sees Koshigaya Park transform into a mosaic of ideas, creativity and fun from 11am to 3pm.

So if you’re looking for a great family day out, where you’ll have a chance to participate in unique experiences, discover new things, be inspired by a host of interactive workshops, and indulge in tasty delights, don’t miss Riverfest 2016.

Four hours of stage entertainment will take visitors to all corners of the globe, with a colourful array of performers and educational shows.

Young participants will love the interactive Dr Seuss show starring The Lorax, who’ll highlight the importance of sustainability through music and dance, and The Litter Bug’s fun activities and songs will teach them how they can help reduce litter in our environment.

Riverfest is a fun day with a serious message on the environment.
There’s plenty of fun activities for kids, big and small.

Kids can also participate in the Discovery Trail by grabbing a copy of the Riverfest passport and visiting stalls to complete a range of fun activities, collecting passport stamps along the way and going into the draw to share in great prizes.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said the annual Riverfest event was one of the most unique and interesting on the annual community events calendar.

“Riverfest is a great family day out, offering everything from tasty treats to fun and interactive activities that teach residents of all ages how they can be more sustainable in their own homes,” Cr Hawker said.

“With entertainers, stalls, activities and workshops to participate in, it’s a fun-filled day for all ages and a great way to connect with our local community,” Cr Hawker said.
