New home buyers can look forward to receiving handy tips and advice on building sustainable homes when Stockland hosts a free event at its Willowdale community at Denham Court this Sunday, September 17.

The Willowdale Sustainable House Day will be on from 10am and until 4pm at Willowdale’s Community Place, an 8-star house that showcases the latest in sustainable living.

At the event, guests will be given free tours of the environmentally friendly house which has been designed to achieve close to net zero emissions through a range of energy saving and ecologically sustainable features.

Other activities on the day include garden games plus a free barbecue and a performance by the Western Sydney Youth Orchestra at 2pm.

Willowdale Community Place was built in November 2016 and it is used as a venue for community events, activities, classes and workshops.

It has achieved a Liveable Housing australia silver accreditation status, which ensures that it has been designed to cater for families of all ages and abilities.

Richard Rhydderch, Stockland general manager, NSW residential development, said anyone interested in building a sustainable home at the family friendly community would benefit from attending the free event.
