The East Campbelltown Eagles are on track to defend their Sydney Shield premiership after notching another win on the weekend.

The Eagles travelled to Cabramatta on Sunday to take on home side Cabramatta Two Blues in Round 9 of the NSWRL Sydney Shield competition.

After an impressive performance, the Eagles are on third place on the ladder with nine rounds of the competition completed.

Despite playing away from home, the Eagles took no time in setting a platform for the game, scoring a point a minute in the first half hour of the match at New Era Stadium.

The premiers outplayed and outmuscled the home side.

At half time they were leading 30-6 and the game was as good as over by then.

Ben Baker was electrifying, scoring three tries and kicking nine goals for a total of 30 points.

No surprise then that Baker took out the Eagles players player award.

The Eagles scored 10 tries all up with Sean Connor (2) and one each to Craig Moustakas, Guy Thompson, Amanono Tovio, Mandella Faleafaga and Jarryd Eggleton contributing.

After having a huge game, Jarryd Eggleton took out the man of the match award; best for the Eagles were John Da Silva, Ben Baker, Sean Connor and Jarryd Eggleton.

The final score was East Campbelltown Eagles 58 Cabramatta 16.

This week the Eagles return home to Waminda Oval to host Wests Magpies for the Benny Stevens Cup  Oval at 2.30pm.
