Driver, 74, dies after car rolls at Hume Highway

A 74-year-old man has died after the Jaguar he was driving rolled on the Hume Highway near Picton Road at Pheasants Nest earlier today.

The sole occupant in the car, the man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he later died.

Emergency services were called around 8.15am following reports a car had veered off the road and rolled.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command attended to the incident.

They are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and will prepare a report for the Coroner.

In other police news, a man and woman will face court today following Monday night’s home invasion at a rural property in Bringelly which resulted in a 38-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man suffering stab wounds.

The woman remains in a serious but stable condition and the man remains under police guard, in a stable condition.

A third occupant, a 44-year-old man was uninjured.

A 32-year-old man – who had been shot – and a 28-year-old woman, were later arrested on The Northern Road, Luddenham, where the car they were in had crashed.

They were both refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today to face a number of charges, including attempted murder.
