Strike Force Trinculo: 12 arrests over drugs

One dozen people arrested, drugs and cash seized in raids.

Police have arrested 12 people after executing seven search warrants across the Southern Highlands and South West Sydney as part of an ongoing drug supply investigation.

Strike Force Trinculo was established by officers attached to The Hume Local Area Command in March 2016 to investigate the supply of methylamphetamine in the NSW Southern Highlands.

Following inquiries, about 11am yesterday Strike Force Trinculo detectives with the assistance of neighbouring commands, and officers from Bass Hill and Wetherill Park Region Enforcement Squads, executed a total of seven search warrants at homes in Ambarvale, Mount Annan, Edmondson Park, two at Bowral, and two at Moss Vale.

During the searches, police located and seized methylamphetamine, more than $30,000 cash, two poker machines, a replica pistol, alleged stolen property and other items consistent with the supply of prohibited drugs.

Those arrested and charged at Moss Vale were:

A 26-year-old woman who was charged with a number of offences, including supplying large commercial quantity of drug, directing a criminal group and recruiting a child to carry out criminal activity.

A 50-year-old man was also charged with supplying large commercial quantity of a drug and other alleged offences.

A 30-year-old man was charged with four counts of supplying a prohibited drug and conducting a drug premises.

A 17-year-old boy was charged with resisting or hindering a search warrant. He will appear at a children’s court on August 26.

An 18-year-old man was charged with four counts of supplying a prohibited drug.

Those arrested and charged at Bowral were:

A 23-year-old man faces two counts of supplying a prohibited drug.

A 32-year-old man was charged with six counts of supplying a prohibited drug.

A 27-year-old man faces three charges, while a 42-year-old man was charged with breaching bail.

A 49-year-old woman faces four counts of supplying a prohibited drug.

Those arrested at Edmondson Park were:

A 21-year-old woman who faces a number of charges relating to drug activity.

A 22-year-old woman was also charged with several counts of dealing in drugs.
