Design your own charity fundraiser or five

fundraiser, which is your preference?
The golf day fundraiser is still top of the pops for most people.

Given a choice, which type of charity fundraiser would you be most likely to attend?

There are many kinds on offer, from evening functions, like a Ball to a fun run or a golf day.

Or does a charity boxing night do it for you?

Because things change the raunchy prawn and beer nights – for boys only – are mostly a thing of the past, and that’s a good thing.

A cycle run, maybe or a swimathon is more your thing.

Or would you prefer to shave your head or walk a thousand kilometres or two for a good cause – take your pick.

Or do all of these leave you uninspired and you have a better idea than all of them?

Here’s our Top 5 charity fundraisers:

Number 1: The golf day. C’mon, they’re always during the week and they last a whole day, meaning you get a whole day off work to take part. Why charity golf days have always been popular and will continue to be.

Number 2. The formal evening function, with or without a colourful theme. We all love to get dressed up and show off now and again.

Number 3: Love the individual ultra marathon walk for charity. Main reason: I don’t have to walk one metre.

Number 4. A prawn and beer night without the raunchy stuff and open to men and women could be a great night. Just add a decent comedian or two.

Number 5. The chook raffle may be mostly gone, but the sausage sizzle outside Bunnings is as popular as ever as a fundraiser. And you don’t have to be invited to attend. You just have to need to buy some plastic chairs or something. The cooking smells of the barbecue will do the rest.
