A dance teacher will appear in court next month over the alleged sexual abuse of a male student in Camden 10 years ago.

He was arrested yesterday, and taken to Narellan Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of aggravated indecent assault of a victim under authority of an offender.

Police will allege in court that the 35-year-old man sexually abused a male student then aged between nine and 11 years.

In June this year, detectives from Camden Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports a young boy had been sexually abused by a male dance teacher between 2011 and 2012.

Following extensive investigations, detectives executed a search warrant at a home at Harrington Park yesterday morning.

During the search, officers seized a number of electronic devices, which will undergo further forensic examination.

The accused has been granted conditional bail to appear in Picton Local Court on November 9.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information is urged to contact Camden detectives or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
