The Camden Cats premier division side has recorded a narrow three point win against the Manly Wolves.
It was one of four Camden teams to win last weekend, with just the single defeat for the club coming in the women’s division.
Keen to put on a good showing in their final home game for the 2019 season, it was the Cats who started the game best last Saturday in the premier division.
Camden dominated play in the opening half of the game, but was unable to capitalise on the scoreboard kicking 4 goals and 10 behinds heading into half time.
The Wolves fought back hard after half time with a 3 goal to 1 quarter that had Camden player-coach Jed Ellis-Cluff seething during his three quarter time address.
An almighty spray from the coach had the desired effect as the Cats found another gear in the last quarter – with Ellis-Cluff leading the way.
He was well supported by possession accumulator Lachlan Maples and co-captain Nathan Kenny who returned to the side after a long layoff with injury.
In a nail-biting last quarter it was young gun Brendan Coxall who sealed the 3 point victory for the Cats with a high pressure set shot goal in the dying minutes.
The Camden Cats premier division side will face the third placed North Shore Bombers this coming Saturday at Gore Hill Oval.
