Campbelltown City Council has released its environmental programs for January to June in a colourful calendar of events.
With a range of activities, workshops and awareness campaigns scheduled, it’s going to be an exciting six months for residents interested in connecting with the environment.
Campbelltown boasts pristine bushland, unspoilt waterways and prolific wildlife – all within a stone’s throw of our urban centres.
There are lots of opportunities to get outdoors and connect with nature – whether it’s bird-watching, bushwalking or Bushcare groups − and it’s all detailed in the calendar.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said council was pleased to promote a range of environmental initiatives to support residents to embrace sustainability and preserve local bushland and wildlife.
“Our environmental calendar is an excellent resource for anyone seeking information on environmental events and initiatives happening in our community,” Cr Hawker said.
“There’s a lot going on in our Local Government Area – the Macarthur Centre for Sustainable Living regularly hosts free workshops and there’s plenty of local, national and international environmental campaigns that residents can get involved in, including events like Earth Hour which will be held on March 19.
“Whether you’re into sustainable living, environmental campaigns or becoming a Bushcare volunteer, this calendar is for you,” Cr Hawker said.
