Deputy Mayor Jayden Rivera says he will be chuffed if there is a full house at Campbelltown’s first public forum tomorrow night.

After all, it was his idea to provide a forum where residents could meet with councillors and staff to discuss any issues of concern to them.

This one is the first of two forums to be held during this term of council.

But Cr Rivera says the interaction between residents and council will be just as important.

The forum, which has been titled by Council as Campbelltown Conversations in its social media marketing, will be held in the civic hall between 5.30pm and 7.30pm tomorrow, Wednesday, May 6.

The civic hall is the small building in front of the council administration building in Queen Street.

“Personally, I think it would be great to have a full house at the first forum; but giving a platform for any and all residents to raise issues of concern and building off that will be just as important and beneficial,’’ says Cr Rivera.

“It’s also important to enable transparent, open discussion and allow the community to also hear what the council is doing.

“I hope the forum achieves connectivity for our residents to all councillors, and for our residents to hear and ask questions about what the council is doing and raise any issues they may have in an open manner,’’ said the Greens councillor.

The format of the forum will see an opening address by the Mayor that will include a presentation of recent projects and achievements, upcoming projects and priorities.

It will be followed by a Q&A and a networking session between residents, council staff and councillors.

Cr Rivera said those wanting to attend need to register.

“As people register to attend, they will also have the opportunity to submit a question that will be answered on the night,’’ he said.

“Join me for our first Campbelltown Conversations – this is your chance to hear about the upcoming priorities and plans for our city and ask any questions you may have.’’
