Bulls face tough scheduling challenges ahead of the finals

After their vital Melbourne City clash on Saturday night at Campbelltown Stadium, Macarthur FC are in for scheduling that will provide a stern test of the depth in their squad.

They will play nine games in a little over six weeks, a predicament all 12 clubs will find themselves in between now and the finals’ series.

In a new draw released by A-Leagues headquarters today, Macarthur FC will play Sydney FC next Wednesday, March 30 at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium Kogarah with a 7pm kick off

On Sunday, April 3, the Bulls will host Perth Glory at Campbelltown Stadium after a four day break; there’s a 6pm kick off for this one.

They will then board a plane for Adelaide to take on home side United on Friday, April 8, kick off 7.45pm

A week later – a decent break – on Friday, April 15, the Bulls will host Brisbane Roar at Campbelltown, 7.45pm kick off

Then just four days later, on Tuesday, April 19, the Bulls will board a plane bound for Launceston, Tasmania, where they will play against Western United, kick off 5.05pm.

If you thought the schedule was crazy up to this point, well, think again, because the Bulls will only get a three day respite after their dash to Tasmania.

On Friday, April 22, they’re back home at Campbelltown, which is some consolation, to host Melbourne Victory from 7.45pm.

After that game they do get a decent chance to rest and recharge the batteries before their next clash at home against Newcastle Jets on Sunday, May 1, with 4pm kick off.

A week later they’re home again, this time in a big Greater Western Sydney derby against the Wanderers on Sunday, May 8. Kick off for this one is also 4pm.

Then it’s finals time – if they make the cut.

The Bulls are currently fourth on the ladder but every club in the league has played a different number of games, some more and others less.

It’s still a long way to go to find out who will win the 2022 grand final, but whoever it is – and we hope it’s Macarthur FC – will have well and truly earned it this season more than any other.
