Fun and games start tomorrow as 2022 seniors festival takes off

Clay making, nature walks, morning teas, movie events, gardening and games are just some of the activities planned in a packed Campbelltown Seniors Festival program this year.

The festival includes a range of free activities designed to get seniors of all ages active, social and having fun.

This year’s theme is “reconnect’’ and encourages seniors to get together and connect with their friends or meet new people and enjoy the festival program.

The events include:

Saturday 26 March – night with the bats at Milton Park

Sunday 27 March – serenity stroll bush walk at Simmo’s beach

Monday 28 March – free movie screening at Dumaresq Street cinema

Tuesday 29 March – pop up morning tea and tunes at Forum Q  

Wednesday 30 March – twilight stroll and refreshments at Campbelltown Community Labyrinth 

Thursday 31 March – weave and yarn (women only) at Campbelltown Yarning Circle

Wednesday 13 April – a clay soiree at Campbelltown Arts Centre

Friday 25 March – Author Talk with Nicole Alexander is one of several scheduled activities in local libraries.

Other include Monday 28 March – English Conversation Group, a Propagation and Germination Workshop on the same day and much more.

First ever Camden Career’s Expo

Got one eye on jobs popping up in your industry? Or maybe you’re ready for a total career change? The inaugural Camden Careers Expo may be where help will be available.

Delivered in partnership with the Regional Industry Education Partnerships, the event will be held on Tuesday 5 April, 9.30am-5pm, at Julia Reserve Community Centre, Oran Park.

Coinciding with Youth Week, local schools will have centre stage at the event from 9.30am to 2.30pm. Senior students will be connected to career information, employment and service providers in and around the Camden area.

The general public is invited to come down from 2.30pm to hear from a range of exhibitors providing relevant, exciting and interactive information about upskilling and professional development opportunities, as well as tangible career pathways into a range of local and regional industries.

Attendees can look forward to connecting with more than 20 exhibitors on the day, including Western Sydney International Airport, the Australian Defence Force, TAFE NSW and the CSIRO.
