They may have had a rollercoaster season, but the Macarthur FC Bulls have finished on a high with a special community engagement event at Narellan Vale on Saturday.

Led by head coach Mile Sterjovski, the entire squad got into the spirit of the occasion when they mingled with players from the Macarthur Magic special needs football club.

Over more than two hours, there were football drills, exercises and even games involving the Bulls and Macarthur Magic.

The event finished with the presentation of awards to the players and members of Macarthur Magic.

“This was really special,’’ said defender Ivan Vujica afterwards.

“It’s always a pleasure to give back to the people of the local community; ultimately without them we’re nothing, we’re very grateful for them,’’ he said.

“It’s been a top day and we even had a very entertaining game, we all got into it, it was very nice.’’

Jake McGing, who grew up around these parts, also said it was an “awesome day’’ to be with Macarthur Magic.

“All the boys really got behind it and we all had a bunch of fun. It was great to see the kids’ faces light up.

“Programs like these are massive in the local community, a really good thing.’’

The community engagement day with the Magic was the Bulls’ final team appearance.

Players have now gone on their break and won’t return till pre-season starts in July. The next A-League season for 2023-24 will start in October.
