Treasurer celebrates free trade agreement with drink of milk in Smeaton Grange

Federal treasurer Scott Morrison visited a2 Milk Company’s milk processing facility in Smeaton Grange to herald the historic free trade agreement with China (CHAFTA), which passed through the House of Representatives earlier this week.

“I am delighted that the Treasurer has had a chance to visit a2 Milk Company’s processing plant in Smeaton Grange to see how this great local success story is set to be transformed by CHAFTA,” said the Federal Member for Macarthur, Russell Matheson.

“The free trade agreement with China is great news for Macarthur because it will provide an enormous economic impetus for our local farming and dairy industry, which will mean more jobs and more opportunities in the region.”

Treasurer Scott Morrison said: “As a result of the tremendous China Australia Free Trade

Agreement, the Coalition Government has been able to negotiate, a2 Milk Company in the

heart of south west Sydney will be able to take advantage of even greater opportunities in China.

“This agreement means more jobs and growth in south west Sydney and I congratulate Russell for his strong advocacy for the free trade agreement on behalf of the Macarthur community.”
