The first ever inclusive playground in Campbelltown has now opened at Glenfield Park.

Hundreds of kids enjoyed the new playground at Livvi’s Place for the first time when it was officially opened.

Features include double flying fox, sway fun glider, giant swing, water play features, bike track, clock tower climbing structure with ramp and slides, musical elements and large carousel.

There is also a changing places facility, accessible toilets and plenty of shade and seating.

The playspace in Glenfield Park was delivered in partnership with Campbelltown City Council, Variety and the Touched by Olivia Foundation.

In addition to $2 million from the NSW Government, Campbelltown City Council invested $350,000 and Variety $150,000.

Campbelltown mayor George Brticevic, who officially opened Livvi’s Place on Saturday (pictured below), said it would be the “gold standard’’ for inclusive play in the region.

“Every child, regardless of age or ability, should have the opportunity to play in a safe and welcoming environment which is why I’m delighted that we have opened Campbelltown’s first inclusive playground at Glenfield Park,” he said.

“Parents, grandparents and carers now have a fantastic, modern park with plenty of shade to get out and about and take the kids to enjoy physical play and social interaction.”

Variety’s head of inclusive play, Kim Becherand said they were thrilled to open the new playground.

“At Variety, we are passionate about every child experiencing play in their local community where they can grow and learn, make friends and thrive. This works toward Variety’s vision for all children to attain their full potential,” Ms Becherand said.

“We have also worked closely with council and Place Design Group to bring this exquisite play space to life, reflecting the voices of the kids of Campbelltown who told us how they like to play and what they would need to make it a space everyone could enjoy,” she said.
