It may still feel like summer but sooner or later winter will be here.
And when it does one of last year’s popular Campbelltown Council initiatives will also return for a second time but bigger and better.
Council has confirmed the Winterland village and ice skating spectacular will be back in 2019 after securing the two key teams behind its success last year.
The inaugural alpine themed festival proved hugely popular, with thousands attending Koshigaya Park in central Campbelltown over the July school holiday break.
This week professional ice skating company Stars on Ice and amusement ride firm Joylands signed contracts guaranteeing an even bigger event this year with two ice skating rinks and a larger, more fun-packed program.
“Residents took Winterland to their hearts last year, and it’s great that we can bring it back to Campbelltown for a second year,” Campbelltown Mayor George Brticevic said.
“Our events team has done a great job in not just securing these sought after firms, but extending the event as well,” said Cr Brticevic.
“It showcases our city’s ability to host drawcard, destination events, and provide people with experiences that are a bit different and to give them good memories to look back on.”
Winterland 2019 will be held from Saturday, July 6 to Sunday, July 21.
It will once again be set up in Koshigaya Park, located at the southern end of the Campbelltown central business district.
More details will be available in May and tickets will go on sale in early June.
