Bike riding is a great activity for the whole family and Campbelltown City Council’s Learn to Ride program gives people of all ages the skills they need to feel confident on two wheels.

The program includes private lessons for all ages and educational sessions for children.

In term four, the last for the calendar year, places are still available for pre-schoolers on Thursdays from November 3 to 24 between 10am and 12 noon.

The Learn to Ride program is held within Council’s Bicycle Education and Road Safety Centre, which offers a main road circuit that simulates road conditions, including road signage and traffic lights.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said the program was fun but most importantly, it equipped participants with the knowledge they needed to ride safely.

“Participants have the opportunity to learn to ride or refresh their skills, find out about helmet laws and road laws, they’re given safety tips, as well as basic bicycle maintenance checks,” he said.

“I’m proud this council program will help those families feel safer and more confident on their bikes.”

The two-hour weekly educational sessions are hosted by a qualified instructor and are $40 per person (for four lessons).

The one-hour private lessons are available by appointment, with a maximum of two people per session. The cost is $35 per person.
