Children’s charity Feel The Magic has joined the Wests Tigers as charity partner for the 2017 NRL season.

As a part of the partnership, the club will work with Feel The Magic on a number of events, fundraising opportunities, promotional activities and support of a 2017 home game.

Feel The Magic’s mission is to create environments where children who have experienced grief can be inspired and empowered to succeed in spite of their loss.

Feel the Magic delivers two grief education and support programs, Camp Magic and Magic Journey.

Magic Journey trips to Disneyland give families a break from the challenges of everyday life, allowing them to reunite and create new and positive memories in a new family structure. Camp Magic is a three day camp for 7-17 year olds who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or legal guardian.

Wests Tigers first partnered with Feel The Magic for the club’s round 17 home game this season, a win against the Panthers.

Wests Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe welcomed Feel The Magic, saying that he looked forward to building a long term relationship with the organisation.

“In the short period of time that we’ve been involved with Feel The Magic we’ve already seen the incredibly important work that the organisation does and the difference it makes in the lives of grieving children,” Mr Pascoe said.

“We look forward to being able to use our profile to support Feel The Magic and help them grow.

“At Wests Tigers we’re very proud of the work that we do in our community, we are much more than just games of football and will continue to use our profile to assist all of our charity partners,” he said.

Feel The Magic co-founder and managing director James Thomas said that the organisation saw a lot of benefits of working with Wests Tigers.

“We are thrilled to have been chosen as one of West Tigers’ charity partners,” Thomas said.

“The Wests Tigers have a strong history in rugby league and deep ties to their local community, where they continue to make a positive difference.

“Feel The Magic creates environments where children who have experienced grief can be inspired and empowered to succeed in spite of their loss,” he said.
