Some of Australia’s best skaters will be taking part in this year’s skate clinics across Campbelltown.

Some of the best skaters in Australia will pass their skills to aspiring locals as part of the 2016 Totem Skate School skateboarding clinics.

Campbelltown City Council, in conjunction with Totem Skate School, is offering local youth the chance to fine-tune their skateboarding skills and learn new tricks during a series of skate clinics to be held through the course of this year.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said the clinics were a popular way for young people to get active in a safe and friendly environment.

“We’re excited to partner with Totem Skate School to deliver a series of skate clinics for our city’s young people, giving them the opportunity to learn from some of the best skaters in the country,” Cr Hawker said.

“Whether you want to improve your skills, or simply have fun and make new friends, the clinics are part of council’s commitment to providing a range of recreational opportunities for young people in our community,” Cr Hawker said.

The first skateboarding clinic of the year will be held at Macquarie Fields Skate Park this Saturday, February 20.

The recently opened St Helens Park Skate Park provides an opportunity to expand the clinics to the southern part of the city, with the popular Youth Week clinic to be hosted at the new facility.

Clinics are free of charge, with helmets and boards supplied.

All ages are welcome to attend, however parental permission is required for young people under 18 and registration forms are required to participate.

Supervision is required for younger children.
