Detailed designs for a new library and community centre in Oran Park have been submitted for development application assessment.
Designed by the award winning Brewster Hjorth Architects, the contemporary library and community centre will meet the needs of a growing community well into the future, says Camden Council.
Mayor of Camden, Councillor Lara Symkowiak, said the state of the art facility, to be delivered under a Voluntary Planning Agreement by UrbanGrowth NSW and Greenfields Development, would offer modern services to residents.
“The new library and community centre, set within an exciting and vibrant town centre, will be a very important community space for generations to come,’’ the mayor said.
“It will inspire learning, creativity, relaxation, celebration and enjoyment for many.
“Incorporating high ceilings, a sun-drenched foyer and unique views across the Town Park, this facility will be part of a contemporary civic precinct in the heart of the Camden Local Government area,’’ Cr Symkowiak said.
“This precinct will also include council’s new centralised administration building, a civic plaza, town park and leisure centre.’’
This library and community centre are expected to be completed in 2017.
So what is state of the art? The sun drenched foyer, high ceilings or the unique views?!
