Teenage boy robbed by group of five

crimestoppers2Police are investigating after a teenage boy was robbed at Macquarie Fields last night.

About 9.20pm the 15-year-old boy was riding his bicycle between Alexander Crescent and Clarence Street, when he approached a group of five people on the foot bridge.

As he rode near them, one male grabbed hold of the handle bars forcing the boy to stop riding.

One of the group threatened the teen, grabbed him by the throat, slapped him, and pushed him to the ground.

Another person ripped his shirt off him.

The group then stole the boy’s gaming disc, shoes and red Dunlop mountain bike, before walking away onto Alexander Crescent.

The teen walked home and informed his mother, who called police.

Officers from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that may assist with their inquiries to contact local police or Crime Stoppers.

One male in the group was described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, 180cm tall, short hair with a plaited rat’s tail, wearing a white Everlast baseball cap, a purple and black hooded jumper and blue Nike shock shoes.

Another in the group, also male, was only described as wearing a white hooded jumper with a “deluxe’’ silver logo.

The other three people were not described any further.

♦ Police from Campbelltown are appealing for witnesses to a collision that occurred on the Hume Highway, northbound, at Campbelltown in November involving a wide load escort vehicle.

About 2.40am on Friday, November 6, a Pantec truck collided with the rear of a pilot vehicle that was escorting the rear of a wide-load truck.

The wide load semi pulled out of a truck stop area commonly known as the “dust bowl’’ approximately 500 metres north of the Glenlee Road overpass on the western side of the Hume Highway.

As the truck left the rest stop, the rear escort vehicle also merged out onto the roadway and was hit in the rear by the Pantec truck.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and speak to police.
