Picture this: New Year’s Eve at the beach without the travel.
This year Campbelltown City Council will bring the beach to you when it hosts a New Year’s Eve beach party at Koshigaya Park, Campbelltown on Saturday, December 31 from 7pm.
The event is shaping up to be a huge night of family fun and entertainment, with a sandy oasis taking over the front of the stage, five hours of free stage entertainment and two dazzling fireworks displays at 9pm and midnight.
Everyone will have a front row seat, thanks to a giant screen on the western side of the park, displaying all of the on-stage action.
There will be lots to see and do, with a family friendly carnival, food and merchandise stalls and much more.
This year’s entertainment line-up includes local singer/songwriter and entertainer Karleigh Rose, the children’s show Angry Birds, and bands including Caribbean Soul, Surprise Party and Endless Summer Beach Party.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, is encouraging the community to join the beach party and welcome in the New Year close to home in a safe, family friendly environment.
“We’ve got a fantastic night of free entertainment planned, with great cover bands that will help get us in the right mood with music ranging from reggae hits and calypso beats, to classic hits from the 60s and 70s, and music from today,” he said.
“We’ve got two lots of fireworks, at 9pm for families with young children and midnight for those who plan to see in the New Year.
