Scams are becoming more sophisticated, and more Australians are being targeted every day. Which is why local MP Greg Warren, pictured above, is holding a second Scam Awareness Workshop.
The inaugural workshop was held last year. The second one will also be free to attend to learn how to defend against scams.
Local experts will again take part in the community information session to show how to identify scams, protect personal information and keep your money safe.
Mr Warren is encouraging local residents to attend the workshop next Monday, November 9.
“These free Scams Awareness Workshops are aimed at helping the community stay safe from increasingly sophisticated scams,’’ says Mr Warren.
“The workshop, delivered in partnership with Westpac and Campbelltown City Council, will give those who attend practical tools to recognise, avoid, and respond to scam activity.’’
Mr Warren said the session will provide valuable insights for people of all ages.
“Scammers are constantly finding new ways to target members of our community, and staying informed is one of the best ways to protect yourself,” Mr Warren said.
“This workshop will give our residents the knowledge and confidence to spot the warning signs before it’s too late.”
The Campbelltown Westpac team will present on common scam types, share practical tips to safeguard personal information, and outline what a legitimate bank will never ask customers to do – helping attendees understand exactly what to look out for.
