The 2023 WomenCan Team Teal campaign has raised $7,000 at Club Menangle.

Throughout the six-week campaign, which started on February 1 and finished on March 14, female reinswomen competed in teal pants to drive awareness of ovarian cancer.

At the same time they were raising funds from wins recorded across Australia and New Zealand.

Club Menangle contributed $200 for every female driving and training win at its track, with a total of 35 wins, including three wins that were both trained and driven by female participants.

“Another wonderful result has been achieved at Club Menangle for the Team Teal campaign,’’ said Club Menangle CEO Bruce Christison.

“A big congratulations and thank you must be extended to all our female participants who were extraordinary representatives in the teal pants,’’ he said.

The Sky Racing Carnival of Miracles hosted by Club Menangle saw the campaign shine on Australasia’s grandest harness racing stage, with Kate Gath donning the teal pants to victory in the Cordina Chicken Farms Chariots of Fire and Garrards Miracle Mile with Catch a Wave.

On Schweppes Ladies Night, Amanda Turnbull achieved Group One glory in the teal colours as she took out the John Gibson Memorial NSW Oaks Final with Windy Hill Tara.

At the same meeting, Turnbull claimed driving honours in the Vodka Cruiser Lady Drivers Invitational aboard the KerryAnn Morris trained Port Au Prince NZ.

In the training ranks, Harness Racing NSW Team Teal ambassadors Belinda McCarthy and Kerryann Morris were also notable contributors, with eight and five winners recorded throughout the campaign at Club Menangle respectively.

“Club Menangle look forward to participating in the 2024 WomenCan Team Teal campaign, with further details to be announced closer to the commencement,’’ Mr Christison said.
