Two women have appeared in court over three armed robberies in less than two hours at service stations across the South Western Sydney region on Friday night.

After being charged, the pair were refused bail to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.

Police allege that about 11.45pm on Friday night officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command responded to an armed robbery at a service station on Heathcote Road near Junction Road, Moorebank.

It is alleged two people armed with an axe and knives stole money and cigarettes and fled the scene in a Mitsubishi Lancer.

About half an hour later police were called to a service station on Nuwarra Road near Newbridge Road, Moorebank where an employee was threatened by two people armed with a knife and an axe.

The assailants fled the scene after stealing cash and cigarettes.

The third robbery occurred at a service station on Camden Valley Way near Gellibrand Drive, Edmondson Park, about 1.15am, where an employee was allegedly threatened with a hammer, before the pair fled the scene with cash.

Following inquiries, with assistance from the Dog Unit and Campbelltown City Police Area Command, the Mitsubishi Lancer was located on Commissioners Drive, Denham Court, and the two women were arrested about 1.30am.

During a search of the vehicle, police seized number plates believed to be stolen, knives, an axe, cash and cigarettes.

The women – both aged 23 – were taken to Liverpool Police Station where they were both charged with three counts of robbery armed with an offensive weapon.
