Woman in court on scratching, pushing police charges

courtPolice have charged a woman with assaulting police after she allegedly pushed a police officer and scratched her on a train earlier this week.

About 6am Wednesday (March 9), officers from the Police Transport Command were patrolling a train at Ingleburn Railway Station with a drug-detection dog.

The officers spoke to a man and a woman and a search allegedly revealed prohibited drugs in the man’s possession.

The 25-year-old woman from Campbelltown became aggressive and pushed an officer to the ground.

The officer attempted to arrest the woman who scratched the officer on the arm.

Officers assisted and removed the woman from the train.

She was charged with assaulting police in execution of their duty and travelling on a train without a valid ticket.

She will appear at Campbelltown Local Court on April 4.

The man, a 31-year-old from Campbelltown, was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for possessing a prohibited drug and travelling on train without a valid ticket.

He is also due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on April 4.
