Wilton pharmacy robbery: man held

A man has been arrested following investigations into a robbery at Wilton on Wednesday morning.

Police say that at about 6.35am a man walked into a pharmacy on Greenbridge Drive, and demanded prescription drugs from a male employee.

The employee complied with the demand and the man left the shop.

Police from Camden Police Area Command were alerted and commenced investigations.

About 8.30pm, Camden Traffic & Highway Patrol Command officers stopped a Ford Falcon in Wilton and spoke with the driver.

Items including a knife, gloves, cash and prescription drugs were allegedly located inside the vehicle and secured at the scene.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station.

The man was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and later to Campbelltown Hospital for a medical assessment where he remains under police guard.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.

In a separate incident, police are investigating after a man and woman were assaulted outside a unit block near Liverpool last night.

About 5.30pm officers responded to reports of a man and woman being assaulted outside the unit block on Lawrence-Hargraves Road, Warwick Farm.

When police arrived, they found a 32-year-old woman suffering stab wounds and a man, aged 36, suffering a head injury.

The pair were treated at the scene for multiple injuries before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command would like to speak to a man and woman seen leaving the area towards Burlison Street, who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

Detective are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
