Love is in the air today as couples across the land celebrate another Valentine’s Day.
The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan is adding a little modern flavour to the day dedicated to lovers – a selfie and social media promotion.
Eagled eyed motorists who use Narellan Road may have noticed that since last Saturday the Botanic Garden has “sprouted’’ a giant grass heart on the hillside just inside the main entrance.
The giant grassy heart will be in place until this Sunday, February 19.
If you’d like the chance to win a $150 voucher from the Botanic Gardens Restaurant courtesy of the Trippas White Group, drive into the Garden, check out the winding trails of heart art decorating pathways and walking routes and take a creative selfie photo.
Then hashtag #GrassyHeart and send it to your loved ones on social media with the hashtags #GrassyHeart #AustralianBG.
Winners will be announced on Wednesday, February 22.
Mt Annan is one of the three Sydney metropolitan area Botanic Gardens taking part in the #GrassyHeart promotion.
The other two are the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, and the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah.
Mr Kim Ellis, the executive director of Botanic Gardens and Centennial Parklands, said the #GrassyHeart idea was about finding a way to showcase the beautiful grassy lawns of these vibrant green hubs with a modern context.
[social_quote duplicate=”no” align=”default”]”We’re embracing new traditions with the rise in social media, and giving people the digital opportunity to snap and share #GrassyHeart and also show the love for our green spaces.”[/social_quote]
