The NSW Joint Traffic Taskforce yesterday targeted trailers at a hire company in Ingleburn.
The operation took place at the hire company premises on Lancaster Street, Ingleburn.
The operation was in response to a truck and trailer crash on the M4 Motorway at Wentworthville on Tuesday, which caused significant traffic delays.
During the operation, the Joint Traffic Taskforce – consisting of officers from the NSW Police Traffic and Highway Patrol Command – inspected trucks and trailers at the company.
The operation resulted in 19 trailers inspected, with four minor issues, and two speed-limiter downloads, both of which were found to be compliant.
Acting Commander of the State’s Traffic and Highway Patrol, Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy, said similar operations will continue to ensure compliance across the industry.
“To ensure the safety of all road users, we need trucking, transport and hire companies to maintain safe vehicles.
“Operations like this one today will continue throughout the year, with the aim of taking any truck or trailer off the roads that are non-compliant,” Assistant Commissioner Corboy said.
