Two new Opal top up machines are now operating at Holsworthy and Liverpool train stations, providing more choice and more convenience for customers.
The roll out of Opal top up machines is now extending from more than 30 locations to nearly 100 stations and wharves, giving customers the option to add value to their card on the go.
“Opal has transformed the way people catch public transport, with 3.2 million cards issued and 320 million passenger journeys taken. Now we’re making it more convenient for customers,” says the Member for Holsworthy Melanie Gibbons.
“By providing extra top up machines we can further improve the customer experience, with people able to add value to their Opal with their debit or credit card on the go.
“This is great news for customers at Holsworthy and Liverpool with the top up machines now live, and Glenfield scheduled for August 3.’’
Leppington and Edmondson Park Stations on the South West Rail Link line are also fitted with Opal top up machines.
Opal is now firmly part of the public transport network and growing with:
• Opal live on 310 train stations, more than 5,000 buses, 23 light rail stops, and 44 Sydney and Newcastle Ferries wharves
• 3.2 million Opal cards issued to customers
• 355,000 Gold Senior/Pensioner Opal cards issued
• Nearly 100,000 Concession Opal cards for tertiary students
• More than 8 million trips a week taken with Opal
• More than 80 million free trips taken with Opal since go-live
