Too hot for too long: head to the beach

too hot
Still hot: Austinmere beach is a short drive to Campbelltown.

How long can this hot summery weather last?

Yes, it is humid and muggy but it beats cold and wet anytime.

And, remember, what the heck would we talk about if the weather was more predictable.

The weather is to humans as Macarthur Square is to Campbelltown folk: what would we do without it?

Apparently it has taken this long run of warm and muggy weather to finally convince some people that the climate really is changing.

But hang on, remember the term, “Indian summer’’? It means extended summer, sometimes into May, and it has been around for many years.

What’s really interesting about the weather is how two people could have completely different views on it.

For example: Human 1 says, “I love this heat.’’ Human 2 quickly responds with, “Nah, I love the cold weather.’’

♦ Here’s our Top 5 weather contradictions:

Number 1: More people over 50 prefer warm weather, whereas younger people say they don’t mind the cold. They have a lot to learn.

Number 2.  Those young people from above reckon you can get used to cold weather. Rubbish.

Number 3. The same people who say we needed the rain are the same ones who complain about how inconvenient the wet stuff is.

Number 4. In New York snow can bring the city to a standstill. A 40 degree day can never do that to us in Sydney. We just go to the pool or the beach.

Number 5. Unless you live in Tasmania it never gets so cold in winter that you have to migrate north of the country. Broome, Darwin, Townsville, take your pick if anything below 20 degrees is too cold for you.
