It may be the off season, but you wouldn’t think so looking at what’s happening at local A-League club Macarthur FC.
To start with, the club has just announced he promotion of three new scholarship players to the A-League men’s squad.
Zane Helweh, Will McKay, and Sebastian Krslovic, pictured above, have earned scholarship deals following impressive performances with the Bulls FC Academy men’s teams during the 2024 and current 2025 League 1 Men’s seasons.
Their elevation to the senior squad highlights the club’s strong commitment to player development and nurturing homegrown talent.
McKay and Krslovic will strengthen the Bulls’ defensive line, with McKay joining as a right-back and Krslovic as a centre-back.
Helweh adds attacking flair to the squad, having demonstrated a sharp eye for goal throughout his time with the Academy.
“These boys have worked hard and shown great performances and impressed over the years,’’ says Bulls FC Academy coach, Nicolai Muller.
“It’s a big moment for them; I am excited to watch them grow in the A-League. Congrats to the boys,’’ he said.
The Bulls have also revealed contract extensions to key defenders Tomislav Uskok and Walter Scott.
Uskok, who has been with the Bulls since their second year in the A-League, will remain with the club until the end of the 2025/26 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
Since joining Macarthur during the 2021/22 campaign, Uskok has been a key figure in the Bulls’ backline.
The experienced centre back has made 91 A-League appearances and scored eight goals, quite a feat for a defender.
Uskok’s leadership and consistency have been instrumental to the team’s defensive stability, and his presence will be vital as the Bulls prepare for the upcoming Australia Cup, AFC Champions League Two, and the 2025/26 A-League season.
A contract extension means that full-back Walter Scott will be a Bull for another season.
Scott’s extension follows a strong 2024/25 campaign, during which he made 22 appearances and consistently delivered solid performances.
