Two 16-year-old boys and a 20-year-old man have been charged over the alleged sexual assault of a teenage girl.

Investigating officers yesterday, July 22, executed three search warrants at homes in Warwick Farm, Cabramatta and Regents Park. The two boys and one man were arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where the man was charged with robbery in company and two counts of aggravated sexual assault in company. The teens were each charged with aggravated sexual assault in company and robbery in company.

The victim, a 16-year-old girl, was in the forecourt of Liverpool Library on George Street on June 21, when she was approached by a group of six males.

Police have been told the girl conversed briefly with the group, before she was invited to meet a mutual friend. She walked with the group to a nearby car park, where it is alleged two of the males sexually assaulted her in a stairwell.

The girl’s mobile phone was also allegedly stolen from her handbag during the assault. The group then left the scene, and the girl returned to the library, where she was assisted and police were contacted.

The trio were due to front court today, with the man appearing before Liverpool Local Court and the boys appearing before a Children’s Court.
