Bon appetit: Wests Group CEO Tony Mathew at the entrance to The Hub, the club’s new food destination.

When a group of friends decided to have their annual dinner on December 30 they chose Wests Leagues Club Campbelltown.

Why? Because word had got around that The Hub, the club’s new food area was worth a visit.

The Hub opened just before Christmas with a New York Deli and Coffee Shop operating during lunch hours and Italian at Night and Asian Fusion also available for dinner.

A Sushi Bar and Tempura outlet will soon complete The Hub, but our party of seven enjoyed the ambience and food and service from the friendly people at Asian Fusion.

We have a tip for you, try the pork belly on the menu, it’s sensational.

We also enjoyed being given the choice of either Italian or Asian and finally after a group discussion went with the latter, but promising to return to try the delights from Italian at Night.

The philosophy behind The Hub at Wests Campbelltown is simple: a place to enjoy good food with friends.

But there’s more than food at the Hub.

An array of carefully selected wines, beers, ciders, loose leaf tea and Hennessy Coffee is also available.

You and your friends can enjoy a selection of handcrafted cocktails each night while listening to live easy listening tunes or mix it up on the dance floor with one of the club’s DJs each Friday and Saturday night from 9pm.

Guests can also cheer on their favourite team, with live sport featured on the big 160 inch screen.

Boasting a modern and fresh new look, The Hub ambience oozes class thanks to the use of fresh timber accents, white timber beams with hanging plants, feature tile backdrops, grey and white chequer tile floors, oak timber flooring and terrazzo stone tabletops.

And there is banquet style seating, booths and benches.

The expectations and tastes of club members and guests is constantly evolving – they want more choice, more gourmet options, something a bit different.

And that’s what The Hub is all about, says Wests Macarthur CEO Tony Mathew.

“It’s time for a change,’’ he says.

“We have transformed this area into a contemporary facility with light furnishings and greenery and an array of cuisines to choose from.

“The Hub is a new destination for food lovers at Wests League Club Campbelltown.’’
