Teenager critical after being hit by car on Appin Road

A teenager hit by a car while walking along Appin Road in the early hours of this morning has been rushed to Liverpool Hospital.

Police say that around 4.30am emergency services were called to Appin Road.

Police were told the 18-year-old male was walking along Appin Road when he was struck by a car about two kilometres east of the Appin township.

The teenager sustained serious leg and internal injuries and was in a critical condition when transported to Liverpool Hospital.

Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash continue.

In other police news, an appeal has been launched for public assistance to help locate a man missing from Campbelltown.

Gavin Harrison, aged 35, was last seen at his unit on The Parkway, Bradbury, about a week ago last Sunday.

When he didn’t return and couldn’t be contacted, officers attached to Campbelltown Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries to locate him.

Police and family hold serious concerns for Gavin’s welfare as he lives with an intellectual disability.

Gavin, pictured, is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, of medium build, with short dark hair.

He was last seen wearing all black and may be travelling with an electric scooter.

Police believe Gavin may have visited the Sydney CBD and could still be in the area.
