Kylie Pussell has been named as finalist in the 2022 NSW Women of the Year Awards.
The Camden resident is the chief executive officer and co-founder of the Miracle Babies Foundation.
Inspired by her own experiences, Ms Pussell and the foundation are focused on the needs of the families of premature babies.
Miracle Babies Foundation provide vital services and resources to such families, including developing and expanding peer support services.
Recently, Miracle Babies has developed Nurture E, an information hub that shares new findings from long-term research, while Ms Pussell is also an advocate for paid parental leave for families with a premature or sick baby.
State Member for Camden Peter Sidgreaves, who is pictured with the foundation’s CEO, said being named as a finalist in the awards was “fantastic recognition for the work Kylie has done not only in our community, but all across our state’’.
“It is community leaders like Kylie who make our community a wonderful place to call home,” Mr Sidgreaves said.
State Member for Holsworthy, Melanie Gibbons, also welcomed the finalist nomination for the Miracle Babies chief.
“Kylie is a great advocate for premature babies and their families,’’ Ms Gibbons said.
“Having worked closely with her, and Miracle Babies, for over a decade, I know she is very deserving of this nomination.’’
There are seven award categories in the 2022 program, including the Premier’s Award for NSW Woman of the Year which is selected from the winners of all the categories.
Winners will be announced on March 9, at the 2022 NSW Women of the Year Awards at the International Convention Centre Sydney and livestreamed online.
The awards are part of NSW Women’s Week during March 7-13.
