[dropcap]A[/dropcap] Good Friday pile-up involving up to eight vehicles at Campbelltown Road, Woodbine has claimed one life and left five others seriously injured.
Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy, the Commander of Traffic & Highway Patrol, will address the media later this morning to explain what had happened at around 7.15pm last night.
Emergency services arrived at the scene to find one of the cars, a blue Holden Commodore, on fire.
The other cars involved were a Toyota Yaris, Nissan X-Trail, Ford Mondeo, Hyundai Santa Fe, a Commodore wagon, Kia Sportage and a Mitsubishi Lancer.
A 17–year-old man, who was a passenger in the Kia Sportage, died at the scene.
A 57-year-old man, who was driving the Kia, and his remaining passengers – two men aged 19 and 20, and an 18-year-old woman were all seriously injured.
The driver and three passengers have undergone surgery and are in serious but stable conditions.
A 26-year-old man from Mount Annan, who was driving the blue Commodore, was freed from the wreckage by witnesses.
He has undergone surgery at Liverpool Hospital for internal injuries.
The Commodore wagon was driven by a 69-year-old man and two passengers.
The female passenger from this car was injured.
The drivers and passenger of the remaining vehicles were assessed on site by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital for further medical checks.
They were:
A 45-year-old woman, who was the driving the Toyota Yaris;
A 34-year-old woman who was driving the Nissan X Trail;
A 21-year-old woman, who was driving the Ford Mondeo;
A 54-year-old man who was driving the Santa Fe;
A man and woman, both aged 26, who were travelling in the Mitsubishi

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]n a separate Good Friday incident, police are investigating after a man was assaulted in Picton.
Police were told the man was punched in the head a number of times by another man, before he fled the scene, a licensed premises on Argyle Street.
The 24-year-old victim was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.
Officers from Camden Police Area Command established a crime scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
