Wests Tigers coach Jason Taylor has resisted the temptation to make changes after last Friday’s big loss to the Roosters.

Earlier this evening he named his team for this Sunday’s away trip to Newcastle and the clash with the Knights and it was the same one that couldn’t stop the rampaging Roosters.

The Tigers mentor said after the Roosters match that his team needed to improve their defence up the middle.

Taylor has been very consistent in his selections so far, only making changes forced on him through injury or the rare suspension.

He must be very confident that the team which couldn’t stop the Roosters will overcome the Knights in front of their fans at Hunter Stadium.

Interestingly, the Knights have lost their past five matches, after winning their first four.

The Roosters had lost four in a row before last Friday night at Allianz, when they came out all guns blazing to blow the Tigers away.

Wests Tigers aren’t desperate for a win, but it would help avoid getting even lower on the ladder.

The key to making the final eight is staying in touch with the eight for much of the season.

Still, Taylor has a plan and he has been sticking to it since round one; the players seem to appreciate the stability in the squad.

• In NSW Cup team news, Brenden Santi returns for the Tigers from a nose injury after missing Sunday’s thrilling 28-24 victory over the Wyong Roos.

• The club’s Holden Cup side will be without Junior Kiwi Watson Heleta due to injury, however Marion Seve returns from suspension to take his place in the centres.
