The month of celebrations and events held as part of the Camden Festival during September 8-23 culminated on Sunday in the biggest Taste Food, Wine and Music Festival ever staged

Almost 10,000 people flocked to the Camden Town Farm for the festival to enjoy the produce and products of 70 food stall holders.

Celebrity chef Miguel Maestre and dessert creator, Katherine Sabbath cooked up a storm with live cooking demonstrations where crowds were invited to watch live and sample their creations.

Live music performances on the main stage enlivened the atmosphere throughout the day, while the animal farm and petting zoo kept the children entertained.

The newest addition to Taste this year featured Produce Lane, offering gourmet take home treats and produce, as well as Taste After Hours, where the event continued with special offers throughout Argyle Street Camden at participating restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs.

“This event was a spectacular finale to the Camden Festival, which continues to grow in scale and attractions,” said Mayor Peter Sidgreaves.

“This year involved local and international celebrities who entertained and engaged the crowds of all ages,” he said.

“The participation of businesses and residents makes it a truly collaborative project that offers a diverse events program,” he said.

Highlights of Camden Festival included the much-anticipated Kid’s Fun Day featuring Nickelodeon’s PAW Patrol characters, Batman and the Batmobile and a toddler wonderland filled with free activities, clowns and face painting.

Cinema Under the Stars featured family favourite movie Despicable Me 3, as well as family friendly activities and food stalls.

Picnic in the Park attracted hundreds of families and children to enjoy the garden games, floral crown making and pot planting workshops as well as a selection of food stalls and live entertainment.

  1. This looks like a great event that may rival the Fishers Ghost in Campbelltown. I have now found out that my great grandfather Charles Bull was elected the MP for Camden in 1895 on almost the same boundaries that applied when I stood for the Seat of Campbelltown in 1969
