Tahmoor bashing: vehicle of interest image released

Police have released an image of a vehicle of interest (pictured) as investigations continue into the serious assault of a man at Tahmoor.

About 5am on Monday, December 27, emergency services were called to a carpark in Thirlmere Way, Tahmoor, following reports of an assault.

On arrival, police located a 20-year-old man with serious head and facial injuries.

The injured man was taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he was placed in an induced coma. He has since been released.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assault.

As inquiries continue, police have released this image of a vehicle of interest, described as a small blue hatchback.

Police were told the vehicle was seen in the Tahmoor area at the time of the assault.

The vehicle was later found burnt out by police and seized for forensic examination.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information about the vehicle, or its occupants, to come forward.

An investigation is under way following a house fire near Campbelltown.

About 9.30pm last Tuesday, emergency services were called to a home on Augustus Way, Ambarvale, following reports of a fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW arrived a short time later and extinguished the blaze; however, the building sustained significant damage.

Nobody was home and no injuries have been reported.

Police established a crime scene, which will undergo specialist forensic examination.

Detectives have commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire, which is being treated as suspicious.
