Just about every Campbelltown high school was represented yesterday when more than 40 student leaders-elect and teachers went on a tour of the NSW Parliament.
The tour included visits to both chambers of the Parliament – Australia’s oldest – the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council.
Representatives from Airds High School, Ambarvale High School, Broughton Anglican College, Campbelltown Performing Arts High School, Eagle Vale High School, Leumeah High School, St Gregory’s College, St Patrick’s College and Thomas Reddall High School took part in the tour, which was hosted by local MP Greg Warren.
The Member for Campbelltown provided the incoming 2018 student leaders with an understanding of the power and responsibility of their roles.
As well as a detailed tour of Australia’s oldest Parliament, Mr Warren also offered the visitors a detailed overview of his role as their local member.
And each of them was presented with a certificate from Mr Warren congratulating them on becoming a student leader for their 2018 school year.

“Their role as leaders within their school communities and the broader Campbelltown community is to represent and advocate for their peers and those around them.
“To have the leaders of tomorrow visit Australia’s first and oldest Parliament and learn of the rich history and responsibility of their roles is something that we as a society can be proud of.
“It’s an honour to invite and host our local student leaders on their visit to the NSW Parliament,’’ he said.
It would be nice if one of these young leaders represented the community in the future
