There’s plenty of football action coming up this weekend.

Two matches on Saturday and four on Sunday make up round 13 of the NPL NSW Men’s 1 competition.

The big interest in the south west of Sydney will be the two Saturday matches.

The main one is the local derby between Marconi Stallions and Bonnyrigg White Eagles.

This will be played at Marconi Stadium from 7.30pm.

The other local side, Sydney United 58 FC, are away to the Sutherland Sharks, from 7.30pm at Seymour Shaw Park.

Marconi coach Jeff Suzor is doing his best with what he has been given, but he is finding results difficult to come by and the once mighty Stallions sit rock bottom of the table.

Bonnyrigg White Eagles by contrast are like a heavyweight boxer, all experience and know-how as they continue to pick up points despite missing bodies through injury.

In Robbie Younis and Aaron Peterson they possess a goal threat as good as any in the competition, and they will rely on one, or both, of them to steamroll them to another win here.

The rest of the games are:

Rockdale City Suns v Blacktown Spartans, 3pm Sunday, at Ilinden Sports Centre;

Sydney Olympic v Parramatta FC, 5pm Sunday, at Belmore Sports Ground;

Blacktown City v South Coast Wolves, 3pm Sunday, at Lilys Football Centre;

Manly United v APIA Leichhardt Tigers, 3pm Sunday, at Cromer Park.

• In other football news, Western Sydney Wanderers have continued their commitment to the development of young footballers by re-signing Young Socceroos Jaushua Sotirio, Shayne D’Cunha and Liam Youlley.

The trio have played a combined 19 first team matches for the Red and Black, with all three involved in the latest Young Socceroos squad which saw eight Wanderers in total pull on the green and gold.
