Stabbed man, 19, knocked on Picton door for help

stabbedAbout 10.30pm on Monday night a 19-year-old man suffering a number of stab wounds to his left arm and chest knocked on the door of a home on Menangle Street, Picton.

He was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics before he was transported to Campbelltown Hospital where he is in a stable condition.

Police say the circumstances of the incident are still unclear, as the victim is not cooperating with the investigation. Police however believe the incident to be targeted.

♦ In a separate incident, a man has appeared in court today to face alleged driving and drug charges.

Traffic and Highway Patrol officers detected a dark grey BMW travelling east on Thirlmere Way, Tahmoor on Monday morning, allegedly not displaying any registration plates.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it allegedly failed to obey and a pursuit was initiated.

It is alleged that during the pursuit the BMW reached speeds of up to 150km/h in an 80km/h marked zone, and at one point the driver threw an item from the moving vehicle.

Police seized the item, believed to be cannabis, for forensic examination.

A short time later, the man driving the vehicle stopped and fled on foot.

Following a search, police located the 39-year-old man in the yard of a home on Milne Street, Tahmoor, where he was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station.

The man was charged with pursuit (Skye’s Law), unregistered and uninsured vehicle, possess prohibited drug, and trespass. He was due to appear in Campbelltown Local Court today.
♦ Local motorists are reminded that NSW Police will be out in force over the next three weeks as Operation Saturation continues, in an effort to combat the rising road toll.

Operation Saturation will include the entire Traffic and Highway Patrol fleet, assisted by local police, in high-visibility patrols on NSW roads.

The operation started on April 8 and will run until Thursday, April 21.
